Abstract

Eutrophication is a major problem in China's water environment, in which nitrogen is a very important pollution factor causing eutrophication and environmental pollution, and biological nitrogen removal technology is the most widely used nitrogen pollution control method. A hypothermia denitrification bacterium, strain TML16was isolated from the sediment of Nansi Lake constructed wetland in winter, and it was studied for its capacity of nitrification and nitrogen removal. Methods of morphological, The strain was identified physiologically and biochemical TML16 as well as 16S rDNA analysis. It is affiliated to be Pseudomonas fluorescens, which named Pseudomonas fluorescensTML16(GenBank accession number MH220399). These data showed that the optimum growth and nitrification conditions of strain TML16 were glucose or sodium citrate as the origin of carbon, a carbon nitrogen ratio (C/N) ratio of 9, an initial pH of 7.0 ~ 9.5 and 3% salinity. Hence, strainTML16was cold-adapted, alkali-tolerant and showed stable denitrification capability, which together may havegreat practical significance and potential application value in the treatment of low temperature nitrogenous wastewater.
