Design Modification of Feed Roll Assembly Using Reverse Engineering
Abstract
Reverse engineering imitates key characteristics of an existing object to produce accurate or improved virtual or physical representations of it. This method is widely acknowledged as being crucial to the product design cycle. When original drawings or documentation are not available, it is frequently necessary to recreate a CAD model of the current part using any digitization techniques. This model is then utilized for analysis and revisions to building a better product design. The critical steps in the reverse engineering process include characterizing geometric models and associated surface representations, segmenting and surface fitting basic and free-form structures, and producing precise CAD models.
