Configuration and Design of the Handling Fixtures
Abstract
Rocket motor used in space vehicles is a heavy cylindrical object which carries explosive propellant. Before launching, it needs to be moved from one place to another and held in different orientations for non-destructive testing and fuel casting. Picking and placing of rocket motor is inevitable for this purposes. Improper handling of rocket motor will have costly and damaging effect. To overcome this problem, in this paper we design and analyze the fixture for handling a heavy rocket motor using Solidworks software.
