Optimization of Nano Emulsified Biodiesel Lubricants
Abstract
Pin on disc testing is extensively used to investigate the sliding behavior of materials relevant wear mechanisms under different tribological conditions. In the present scenario, metals have very wide range of applications where generation of friction is one of the major problems. Due to the continuous generation of friction, wear rate increases which lead to deformation of the metals. Here the tribological properties of Pin on disc under vegetable oil-based lubricants with the addition of biodiesel concentration and metal oxide nano particles is optimized by using Multi Criteria Decision Making for the determination of best nano emulsion which is helpful in improving the tribological properties. Nanoparticles are used extensively as additives in carrier fluids such as lubricants and fuels. The use of nanoparticles as additives in lubricants has found to improve the load carrying capacity and also reduce friction and wear of tribo surfaces. Here, an MCDM technique TOPSIS is proposed for selecting the best suitable nano added blend .
