Performance Comparison of different Filters for Denoising the Digital Noisy Images through Wavelet Transformation

Abstract

In this paper, grayscale image (CT-scan Image of Chest) are considered for filtering to make it noise-free. The operation is done by various filters along with wavelet transform. In digital image processing wavelet transform has great power to suppress noise from noisy images and also has the potential for image enhancement. The algorithm and experiment applied in the same paper shows the denoising result of winner filter through the wavelet transform much superior to the other filters and the superiority of denoising is shown in terms of Mean-Square-Error, Signal-Noise-Ratio, and Peak-Signal to Noise-Ratio.
