Abstract

Digital printing has successfully replaced conventional offset printing process in the recent times, especially for short run printing, suiting to various personalized benefits related issues. Digital printing has come across many changes from the time of its beginning, and its quality has become comparable with the offset printing over the time. As the customers demand for digital print quality has been raised, its runnability and printability related issues need to be further effectively addressed and explored.  This paper reviews various runnability and printability issues with dry toner based digital printing in relation to cellulosic substrates which are frequently used for printing. The various runnability and printability issues like moisture content, curling, static electricity, jamming, double sheet feeding and fusing failure have been reviewed in this paper for preparing a suitable model.
