Abstract

Cotton is one of the most important commercial fibers produced all over the world. After cotton picking it is necessary to eradicate the cotton stalks from the soil. The reason behind is to avoid carry-over of diseases from one season to another season. To overcome this situation and to uproot the cotton stalk from the soil  cotton stalk puller was design and developed. The implement was constructed by using two taper rollers. These two rollers are arranged parallel to each other at a specified distance. The implement was driven by means of engine.By taking pulling force in a view engine horsepower and dimensions of all required parts are calculated and use for the implementation. For the field performance test rectangular areas of the farm was selected. Number of plants eradicated from the entire area is determine. According to the values obtained efficiency of implement were calculated. This implement design can be manufactured in the industrial factories as well as in small workshops due to its simplicity. This implement useful for the farmers as it can eradicate cotton plants from the soil at a cheaper rate.
