Abstract

The priority encoder has a wide range of applications in digital and computer systems as microprocessor interrupt controllers, where they categorize the highest priority response. Every input is given a priority level. The most important input is currently active, and it agrees well with the output. This research paper proposes a successful implementation of a 4-bit priority encoder by means of the modified GDI approach. A simulation was run utilizing Tanner Generic 250nm technology and quality test matrices from complementary CMOS and Modified Gate Diffusion Input techniques. This approach has a considerably higher speed and uses a lot less electricity.
