Abstract

There is a lot of economic literature that emphasizes that economic activity, especially the activity of industry, is an important factor in attracting the population and migrating to the industrial cities where there are jobs and high wages and then increase the size of those cities. But there are some new urban communities where the industry has been settled as a leader and supportive of development, where the desired residential development has not been achieved, but that the industrial development has been achieved as planned, and urban development did not achieve the target, This is what the study of one of the experiments of the new cities in Egypt (10th of Ramadan City), which did not achieve the target of the urban development, only 50% until the target year, while the industrial development achieved the target, where the area doubled the industrial activity by 200 %, And therefore it requires studying the reasons that affect this phenomenon.The research aims to Identify the possibility of achieving urban development in light of the exploitation of industrial activity as a key factor for sustainable development, and The study sheds light on the impact of industrial activity on growth in housing construction, in light of the fact that policy makers and decision makers can formulate a more effective policy for industrial development to achieve the desired objectives of urban development.
