FPGA Platform for Image Processing using Xilinx Zynq series of FPGA

Abstract

This paper focuses on developing an FPGA based platform to perform real time image processing.Since artificial intelligence is impacting the business more than anything else more and more businesses are now a days depending on prediction-based models. These models are developed by machine learning which in turn depends on data. Any such embedded platform basically requires an image capturing interface and a display interface. The typical resolution considered are of 640x480 pixels. Here we consider the camera interface and a display interface on programmable logic block of the ZC7000 series of Xilinx FPGAs which also houses a processing system.An FPGA platform with programmable logic blocks in tandem with a processor will ease moving the computationally intensive modules to a hardware accelerator.Additionally, depending on the computation required, the system may require a GPU too.
