Abstract

Sinusoidal Signal generators in which the output frequency is instantaneously and numerically controlled are  usedwidelyin digitalwireless communication systems. This paper has details of a numerically controlled sinusoidal signal generator also known as Numerically Controlled Oscillator based on CORDIC algorithm is proposed.Analysis in matlaband simulation of the same in Verilog resultsprovided in the paper show that CORDIC based numerically controlled oscillator (NCO) is efficient than look up tablebasedNCOimplementationsusing VLSI/FPGA.
