Empirical Research on Credit Conversion of MOOC in Colleges and Universities

Abstract

At present, with the rapid development of MOOC, colleges and universities at home and abroad have tried to apply MOOC to higher education to realize the reform of higher education mode. MOOC credit conversion refers to course grade can be converted into credits for graduation after students complete the elective courses on MOOC platforms designated by colleges and universities and pass the course assessment. In this study, questionnaire survey, interview, qualitative analysis, literature review, content analysis, data statistics, comparative education and other methods were used to discuss the current problems and countermeasures of MOOC credit conversion in colleges and universities. According to the analysis, the current MOOC credit conversion in Chinese colleges and universities is faced with problems such as improving the teaching effect and teaching quality of MOOC, improving students' learning process, and lacking effective evaluation mechanism and credit conversion standards for MOOC learning. Based on the current situation of MOOC credit conversion in China and the experience of foreign countries, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions, such as introducing more specific policies at the national level to ensure the construction and teaching quality of MOOC, establishing effective evaluation mechanism, formulating credit conversion standards and improving the scope of MOOC credit conversion
