Passengers Spatial Distribution Forecasting Model at BRT Station
Abstract
Multiple loading areas usually set up at BRT stop to increase the utilization efficiency of boarding & alighting. However, the utilization of the loading areas is very low, except for the main loading area. Passengers’ spatial distribution models at loading areas were analyzed, which verified the uneven distribution of passengers at each door and different loading areas. The results show that the inner space size, walking distance and waiting time are the main factors that affect the distribution in the BRT stop. This research provides a theoretical basis for improving the utilization of the loading area in the future.
