The private sector is one of the intrinsic elements regards Chinese economic institutions. Within private enterprises, especially family firms, they are being highly valued, and the founders or founding families began to recognize the opportunities and challenges along with the firm’s development. However, due to the heterogeneity of family firm’s establishment and the limitations of their daily management style, the overall development and growth pace are somehow restricted. The family businesses themselves are relatively weak in coping with challenges, this should date back to the low degree of compatibility between family firms and their employees. The fundamental reason is that the gene of family business determines that its rapid development is closely related to their family business members, especially the family members. At the same time, due to the different stages of business development, there would be changes between the performance of organizational behavior and members’ behaviors within the family business. The situation of inconsistency between these two might strongly restrict the management decision making and future direction of the enterprise. Therefore, if family business can balance the relationship between organizational behavior and individual behavior of employees, it might could help maintain long-term, stable, and healthy sustainable development. In order to figure out the problem, 60 interviews are conducted within 15 family firms. This paper contributes to the family business literature by highlighting its endogenous in accelerating the family firm’s growth and development. It also contributes to the organizational behavior literature by offering 4 fitting patterns between the family business and its employees, this also gives new perspective of embedding individuals’ actions and behaviors into the organizational behaviors.
