Consolidation and Enhancement of Soft Power of Chinese Higher Education Based on the Internationalization Analysis of Multinational Higher Education
Abstract
With the unprecedented blow to the internationalization of traditional higher education, the strategic value of "internationalization" has been reaffirmed and internationlization has been incorporated into the internationalization policies of higher education in many countries as an essential means to enhance the soft power of higher education and to cultivate internationally competitive talents in the local context. For China, the development of more comprehensive, inclusive and accessible internationalization is also one of the major directions of internationalization of higher education in the post-epidemic era. In response to the questions of why and how to promote internationalization, it is necessary to analyze and learn from international experience, and update the connotations and extensions of internationalization according to China's national conditions and the internationalization status of various higher education institutions as well as their hardware and software bases, so as to formulate the internationalization strategy and path with Chinese characteristics. At the same time, we should also avoid the binary opposition between internationalization and mobility in the process of practice. In addition, we should uphold the principle of combining both, and integrate internationalization with traditional internationalization to create a new era of internationalization that integrates both domestic and foreign fronts. In this way, we aim to make internationalization "accessible" to all students, and prepare to achieve the strategic goal of building a community with a shared future for mankind through an extensive internationalization policy and strategy.
