Abstract

Mobile adhoc network (MANT) performance is impacted by the traffic density and the speed of the nodes. Conventional routing mechanisms are developed to enhance the performance such as throughput and latency, however, still there was a door for further development especially when routing is directly involved in node energy consumption. In this paper, routing is performed using clustering method where hosting nodes of 100, 200 and 300 numbers are connecting the base station node through four cluster heads. Far-near base approach is adopted for communication initiation between the nodes. Network performance is improved as per the reported results; throughput has enhanced by 19.03 %, 9.24 % and 0.724 % from the no cluster senior.
