Study and Comparison for the use of Different Numbers of Axial Grooves on the Performance of the Bearing
Abstract
This paper deals with the study and comparison of the use of different numbers of axial grooves on the performance of the hydrodynamic bearing. The Reynolds equation has been solved two-dimension numerically using a computer program (Matlab) to find the values of pressure on the bearing and calculate the net force, taking into account the effect of both thermal and elastic deformation on the values of permittivity (clearance) and then pressure, and indicate their effect on the net force, as well as static characteristics, average temperatures and values of coefficients stiffness (basic and accompanying).
