Abstract

Designing Microstrip patch antennas have always been a researcher’s catch because of their various applications.A novel structure of thePatch antenna is depicted, designed, investigated & analysed in the paper. 3 distinctive shapes namely rectangular cut, T-shape and F-shape are designed with and without a slit in ground plane. Simulated results prove that adding a slit in the ground plane improves the ability of the antenna to radiate, in considered aspects which are pre-eminent for any antenna. Primary focus is on four vital transmitting antenna parameters which are return loss, Voltage SWR, Bandwidth and Gain. All 3 shapes produce tri-band resonant frequencies. The designing of the antenna is accomplished employing CST software.
