Abstract

The spray properties of a water nozzle, which is commonly used in gasification, combustion, and agriculture, were explored experimentally in this work, with a focus on nozzle diameter, angle of dispersion, and velocity distribution at various injection pressures. Sprays produced by nozzles with 0.8mm, 1.5mm, and 2mm plain orifice diameters (60°cone angle) with injection pressures ranging from 0 to 3.8 kg/cm2. Experiments reveal that the nozzle diameter is the most important component in determining the angle of dispersion under various pressure situations. The process of turning liquid into microscopic droplets is known as atomization. The angle of dispersion (θ) and Reynolds number (Re) have been calculated as 1.4 Re0.39 from the data gained in this investigation, where is specified by orifice diameter.
