Abstract

The transfer of excitation energy between the molecules of dyes is an effective and important phenomenon in order to achieve the operational conditions for efficient lasing at desired wavelengths , and particularly in the development of dye laser.Linear optical properties for a mixture of Rhodamine B (RB) and Malachite Green (MG) organic laser dyes were measured at different concentrations (2´10-5, 4´10-5 , 6´10-5, and 8´10-5 ) M in ethanol solvent at room temperature before and after mixing.Increases of linear absorbance index, refractive index, wide absorption spectral bandwidth was observed in the mixture with increasing concentration. The maximum absorption bandwidths in the mixture rangingbetween (470-650) nm were obtained at concentration (8´10-5) M  for each dyes with a mixing ratio (1:1) depending on the donor sample concentrations. This range provides awide – scale pumping source for lasers.
