Exploration of Javanese Local Wisdom for the Development of Archipelago Aesthetics Interior Design in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution Era
Abstract
The local wisdom of Javanese people is related to the life support of the harmonious kurmat, namely aruh, gupuh, lungguh, and suguh representation of the beauty of character values to maintain environmental balance. For Javanese people, the house is created to preserve the balance of the occupants with their environment. This study seeks to discuss the local wisdom that supports Javanese human life in harmony-kurmat in the namu/Sonjo(visit) tradition and its correlation with the interior elements of a traditional Javanese house to find the concept of Aesthetic Studies using qualitative methods and interpretive analysis techniques. The findings in the study are the Archipelago Aesthetics concept found in Javanese Traditional Houses based on the view that the house is realized to maintain harmony. Exploration of local wisdom is found, harmony to build social life can be achieved in harmony, including attitudes: aruh, gupuh, lungguh, and suguh. Aruh is the attitude of grapyak, the representation of a friendly form of regol for goodness and safety. Gupuh is an age-age attitude, a representation of a mask that makes the house shady. Lungguh is an attitude of giving a chance to sit, representing the form of a loose/free Pendapa. Suguh is an attitude of providing a pleasant pasugatan, representing the form of an angry paringgitan. The aesthetic concept of character values from the Javanese Tradition House, it can be seen that the existence of regol, maskan, pendapa, and paringgitan is the embodiment of attitudes: aruh, gupuh, lungguh, and suguh so that the form of a house that is friendly, shady, loose, and ngresepakeis realized. Adaptation of the Aesthetic Concept of Moral Value from the Javanese Traditional House for interior design based on Nusantara culture in the 4.0 industrial revolution era presenting an interior design that is friendly, shady, loose, and stylish.
