Effect of Basalt Fiber on the Properties of Pervious Concrete
Abstract
Porous concrete or Permeable concrete generally called as Pervious concrete is another form of concrete with a high porosity. Pervious concrete is a simple and effective solution to recharge ground water and prevent surface run-off. In this investigation, Basalt Fiber was added to concrete in the following proportions: 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1.0 percentage by weight of concrete for a 0.35 w/c ratio. However, there is no literature of making of pervious concrete by adding basalt fiber to it. For pervious concrete, compressive, flexural, and split tensile strength tests were performed for 7, 14, and 28 days. The main purpose of this research is to find out how Basalt fiber affects the properties of pervious concrete. And as per the results the addition of basalt fiber to certainpercentage to pervious concrete increases the compressive, flexural, and split tensile strength of pervious concrete.
