A Comprehensive Survey on Routing Protocol in WSN
Abstract
Wirelesssensornetworkhasasetofdistributedsensor nodes which are connected to each other. These sensornodesarelowpowered, lowcost, smallinsizewithlimitedamountof battery supply. While designing the wireless sensor networkfor sensing and data reporting tasks, limiting the utilization ofpower resources of the sensors is the important concern in orderto extend the lifetime of the wireless sensor network. The nodeswhich are selected as a mobile sink will quickly consume morebattery power and degrade the network lifetime. Sink relocationisthemostpowerfulmethodtoextendthenetworklifetimewithoutconsumingmorebatteryenergy. EnergyiscrucialinWSN,andthusthedesignofWSNintheresearchcommunityis based on energy efficiency, and node energy consumption is agreat challenge to enhance WSN’s lifetime. It may be costly oreven impossible to charge or replace consumed batteries becauseofthedifficultenvironment.Manyenergyefficiencymethodsare introduced in this article to decrease energy consumption, improvenetworkperformanceandincreasenetworklifetime.
