Abstract

This paper discusses about the designing and modelling of a standalone solar rooftop system along with the photovoltaic module output characteristics under partial shading conditions. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to perform effective Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) of the solar PV system. To evaluate the study, the anticipated PSO MPPT is executed on a DC-DC boost converter. Easysolar software is used for design and assessment, while MATLAB software 2019a is used for simulation modelling and performance evaluation.
