Automatic License Plate Detection & Recognition using Deep Learning

Abstract

Automatic License Plate Detection & Recognition is a methodology to reveal vehicle identification. It automatically detects and recognizes the license number of vehicles using deep learning. The system consists of three sections likely; Yolo object detection for license plate localization and extraction, image segmentation for cropping characters, and character recognition to recognize license numbers. The system can identify vehicles having single line license plates with an efficiency of 67.40% in a broad range of environmental conditions.
