Abstract

Solar power production is widely used in these days by using photovoltaic cells, but the efficiency of this is very low. The economy and efficiency of PV systems are improved by using different MPPT algorithms, but in this paper, an improvement of incremental conductance algorithm is preferred, this algorithm is easy to implementation and can follow the change in voltage, current, and power when the weather parameters change, and PI controller also used to decrease steady-state error, to improve the response and to improve effectiveness in tracking. Simulations using MATLAB are observed with changing in solar irradiation level, and comparing of the improved incremental conductance results and P AND O algorithm results are done. From the results, the incremental algorithm can effectively change the response with change in weather parameters, and steady-state error also decreased with compare to P AND O method.
