“Crisis Within and Without”: A Study of Amit Chaudhuri’s Fiction

Abstract

This paper discusses the psychology of the diasporic nature and an individual struggle of the Amit Chaudhuri’s novelsA Strange and Sublime Address, Afternoon Raag and An Odysseus Abroad.  He writes simple novels and his style of writing is descriptive. He describes his place and his characters. Human psychology is used very realistically for him. There was always an urgent need to understand internal difficulties of immigrants and themchildren. These difficulties arise, affect or complicate the flight or departure of the homeland, aswell as the differences and conflicts that arise to live and adapt to a new place. The purpose ofthis paper is to present and try to convey the notion of understanding the psychology ofimmigrants in Amit Chaudhuri’s novels.
