Abstract

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system that provides the users with positioning, geolocation, and timing information. It is one among the constellation of satellites that are referred to by the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). This paper presents the analysis of GPS receiver position estimation by using Weighted Least Squares algorithm. Weighted Least squares is an iterative algorithm that is simple, fast which is used to estimate the accuracy of the position. For this analysis, real time satellite data is used and results are simulated by using MATLAB software.
