Abstract

The objective of the study is to identify the influencing factors and analyzing the significance of those factors for managing technology transfer from major Indian public funded Research and Development institutions to industries and further to civilian applications. In this context a structured questionnaire with 60 Questions has been designed and the response collected from 231 respondents involved directly in the technology transfer process. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics like one way ANOVA, Mean, Standard Deviation, P-test and Factor Analysis using SPSS software. The data was analyzed with demographic variables of respondents with respect to age, designation, educational qualification, organization and experience..The study explores how best all the R&D organizations can collaborate with synergy & work together for common goals. Adapting the proposed strategy successfully, it is possible for all the technologies transferred to be scaled-up from R& D stage to application stage. The proposed strategy will also be helpful for the R&D managers to bridge the gap between conventional research institutes and hi-tech industry. Also, it is essential to create collaboration/ consortium between defence R&D organizations, industries, academia and non defence organizations. This will bring the best from every organization and individuals to contribute to the national economy in the best possible way.
