Abstract

Solar energy is one of the renewable energy resources which can be used as an alternative to conventional energy resources. Sun trackers can be used to improve the production of electricity using photovoltaic system. The control implementation is a simple and effective design. A prototype is designedto verify the utility of this scheme. The performance of the Sun tracking can be confirmed experimentally. This study will serve as a valuable reference for future solar energy applications. In this only one inductor is used to yield energy from solar cell by using BDHC which performs DC- DC conversion. If the system load is lesser than the harvested energy, then the battery is charged with the residual energy with the help of buck boost converter, this is known as a battery charging mode. If the harvested energy is smaller than the system load, the load is supplied by both battery and harvested energy, which is known as batteryassisted mode.  For the maximized power efficiency the vital charging scheme is found to be the optimum control scheme.
