Abstract

This paper records about the modeling, meshing and the analysis techniques for an FRP Spur Gear. Here in this paper, the goal was to model a standard and profile corrected spur gear pair for a nylon 6 reinforced with Glass Fibre, The dimensions of the models were arrived by theoretical calculations. The objective was further to increase the strength and stiffness of the gear. The results were analysed by checking the differences between Steel and Reinforced glass fibre. The variations of static stresses was analysed. The directional deformations were also found to be satisfactory for the corrected fibre reinforced gear material. Deflections that were observed at the highest contact line proved that finite element analysis is a good mathematical tool which can be used analysis loads in static and dynamic conditions.
