Influence of Principal's leadership style in determining the Job Satisfaction of Teachers working with them at Degree Colleges in North Bangalore City.
Abstract
Purpose: leadership is the most emerging concept in India. Studies on implication of leadership styles practices by top management has a greater result in organisational performance. In terms of higher educational institutions, it becomes most essential for the development and survival for a longer duration successfully. The present study focuses on investigating the influence of the leadership style on the satisfaction of job satisfaction for the teachers at greater educational institutions
Structure/Methodology/ Approach: To analyzethe problem mentioned above,this representative quantative empirical investigation was performed with surveying 120 feternity members ofdifferent degree institutes in North Bangalore city
Oobservations: The empirical research uncovered a lot of crucial and optimistic influence of leadership on teachers for their job satisfaction, transformational leadership styles had a positive impact in comparison with transactional and laissez fair leadership style
Research constraints /iimplications:We observed several implications on additional research. With which we can say it can be broadened geographically (in other cities) and other aspects of leadership styles could also be studied.
Practical implications: Practical Implications reveals that the Principal's at colleges have great power to enhance the job satisfaction level for their teaching fraternity by interpreting their role as great leader and motivating them to achieve the organisational and personal goals.
Originality/value: Not much studies has been undertaken in the aspect of impact of leadership style at higher educational institutions most of the studies focuses on primary and secondary school principal leadership styles and studies are evidenced in Abroad countries. In India, very few studies focus on this aspect of studies.
