Research on Index System of Water Resources Carrying Capacity Based on Improved Analytic Hierarchy Process Model

Abstract

This article focuses on the water resources carrying capacity (WRCC), and the specific research
area is the core city of the Yangtze river urban agglomeration. In this article, a scientific
evaluation index system is constructed, then the Analytic Hierarchy Process method and Water
Resources Kuznets curve model are used to make a reasonable evaluation of the state of water
resources carrying capacity in the core city of Nanjing. This article is aimed to make the
economic society of the cities in basin and water resources environment develop in harmony,
and the conclusions are as follows: (1) In the evaluation system of WRCC, economic pressure
has the greatest impact and the reduction of wastewater discharge can significantly improve the
state of water resources carrying capacity. Then technological improvement has less impact. (2)
In the core cities of the Yangtze river urban agglomeration, there is a complex coupling
relationship between the economic society (especially the industrial economy) and the water
resources environment. Only when the pressure of economic development on the water
resources environment is less than its carrying capacity, the development of economic society
and water resources environment can be coordinated.
