Seven Level Inverter with Self-Balanced Switched Capacitor
Abstract
This article describes a unique seven-level switched-capacitor inverter (SCI). This SCI can produce a 7-level output voltage using a DC source, twelve switches, and two capacitors. The proposed SCI exhibits several noteworthy characteristics, including self-balancing capacitor voltages, fewer switches with decreased voltage stress, and bipolar voltage generation without the usage of a backend H-bridge. The suggested topology produces a threefold increase in output voltage over the input voltage. A thorough comparison with other SCI has been performed in the article to highlight the benefits of the suggested SCI. Simulation and experimental outcomes have validated the performance of the suggested SCI under various operating circumstances.
