Abstract

In today's world, only when body's bilirubin content rises, it causes jaundice in newborns and grownups. Acute liver inflammation or bile duct inflammations are examples of ailments that induce jaundice. To detect jaundice, a variety of invasive and intra operativeprocedures are available. However, the disadvantages of present intrusive procedures are that they take a long time and do not allow for real-time monitoring. Patients can be traumatized by current invasive procedures, yet intra operativeequipment can cost thousands of dollars. We developed intra operativejaundice screening system to minimize further trauma and excessive costs. To capture the ranges of bilirubin, a specially designed goggle with a camera with a customized focal length is produced. This job requires a dedicated algorithm that is entirely based on IoT. The technique can detect jaundice in the infants after calibration with multiple volunteer patients. We tested our technique on 25 cases, and the results show that it is 90 percent accurate. This might be used as a jaundice monitoring device in the clinical NICU, resulting in lower health-care costs.
