Abstract

In this paper, we study the effect of Isolators with lead rubber base beneath the foundation, and compare it with Isolators having fixed base. Using Etabs software we perform non linear time history analysis to determine the effect of soil conditions underneath the Isolated base. Using soil inherent properties such as flexibility and stiffness, this research investigates variations in narrative displacements, drifts, and repositioning in the soil, as well as spectral displacements in accordance with Indian Standard (IS) code 1893:2016 requirements. In order to pick the correct soil type, buildings with base isolation devices are subjected to qualitative and quantitative examination. A greater spectral displacement (SD) was detected in soft soil, indicating that the spectral response of an isolated base structure is dependent on type of soil. For a lead rubber base isolation, the study concludes that soils with hard and medium soil conditions are better for building structures.
