High Gain Dual Band Amc Backed Monopole Antenna For Wifi And Wlan Application

Abstract

This paper presents a Coplanar Wave guide (CPW) fed multi band antenna with a Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR) based Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC). The proposed model exhibits two operational bands with increased gain. Antenna without AMC works at 2.41GHz-2.62GHz & 4.87GHz-5.10GHz bands. The gains at resonances of working bands are 2.6dB and 3.6dB. Antenna with AMC works at 2.33GHz-2.57GHz & 4.85GHz-5.14GHz bands. The gains at resonances of working bands are 5.15dB & 6.12dB. Due to AMC the bandwidth and gain increased when compared with no AMC condition. The analysis is regarding the antenna model and AMC. The antenna proposed can be used for applications like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
