Abstract

The demand for new and environmentally friendly energy system is growing worldwide. Solar and wind energy systems are taking the biggest share from, this current trend, to increase the energy reliability, solar and wind energy are used as dual energy sources. However, a drawback, common to solar and wind options, is their unpredictable nature and dependence on weather and climatic changes, and therefore the variations of solar and wind energy may not match with the time distribution of load demand. This shortcoming not only affects the system’s energy performance, but also leads to batteries being discarded too early. Therefore, a 3rd energy system is required to enhance the energy supply reliability.
