Abstract

Pigeon pea or Tur dal popularly known India and one of the main foods. A huge amount of pigeon pea is produced in India, then it converts into dal (split pigeon pea) for ease of cooking and eating. A large market share occupies by pulses. It is necessary to study the entire process of threshing pigeon pea and making dal from pigeon pea. After matured crop it is time and money consuming process till finishing the product. Various problems are occurred during the threshing of pods seed damage, seed going into waste, pod separation from crop.   During milling of seeds excess wastage of material, time consuming process etc.  The farmer, who grows the crop, cannot get his share. Brokers earn money from farmers. Dal mill owners are getting handsome profit by converting the seed into finished product and selling to customers. In the same way if combine machine prepared, which converts the seed into finished product can change the life of farmers. A low-cost machine can be a solution for the problem.
