Abstract

The rising popularity of social media had greatly influenced the interests of common people. As a result a tremendous rise in the number of online users have been observed. However, as the number of users increases, their interaction among them get challenged with the trust factor. The social interaction in the dynamic virtual world using internet technology is observed as a relationship among various heterogeneous devices using network technology. These online relationships in the social networks are usually studied based on the real life social relationships to infer the extent of trustworthiness between them. This is the most important aspect from the security point of view in the social networking. In the paper, various key aspects of Social Internet-of-Things (SIoT) addressed by research community have been discussed. Most of the researchers had tried to compute the trust based on various relationships based on some common aspect such as co-locations, co-project, co-work, co-family, co-friend, co-interests, etc. The article includes the detailed architecture of SIoT commonly used to discuss the principles, challenges and solutions to the rising threat to privacy and security in SIoT.
