DESIGN OF NOVEL ENCHANCED CONTROLLER FOR PQ IMPROVEMENT WITH IUPQC
Abstract
The present paper proposes an advanced device of the Unified Power Quality Conditioner for the enhancement of the various issues of the quality of power and minimization of the disturbances arisen in power. It is Interline Unified Power Quality Conditioner and it is connected to two feeders. The developed topology is used for the compensation of voltage and current in the two feeders simultaneously. It is connected in the middle of two feeders which are independent and regulates voltage of one feeder and sensitive loads voltage of the other feeder. As UPQC is amidst two independent feeders, it is known as Interline UPQC. The performances of both the shunt and series compensators are analysed using extensive simulations. An effectual controlling technique of Phased Locked Loop in Enhanced mode has been used for IUPQC for the detection, extraction of disturbances and improvement of the PQ. From the simulations it can be shown that IUPQC has higher effectiveness in reducing the effect of the voltage disturbances and harmonics in the load current.
