Abstract

The main objective of this dissertation is to to find a optimum process parameters to improve kerf angle ,top and bottom kerf width of hard aerospace material like inconel 625 while cutting with abrasive water jet machine . Abrasive water jet machining (AWJM) is a relatively new machining technique in that it makes use of the impact of abrasive material to erode the work piece material. Included extensive literature survey shows the potential of this process by using different input parameter as, Traverse speed, Nozzle diameter, Polymeric additives Hydraulic Pressure and Stand of distance (SOD), abrasive size and gets the changes in output parameter kerf angle ,Water jet lagging, kerf width such as Top kerf, Bottom kerf  etc. To perform the experiment, taguchi design was chosen as a statistical tool to build an experimental layout.
