Abstract

A-Lua is a Thai dessert that originated in Portugal. It is now made with a new concept called the "A-Lua amulet dessert" as it resembles an amulet of various colors and forms. This adds to the snacks menu and makes it profitable. This is regarded as a debatable topic. However, it seems that there are two sides to the debate. The first group favors it because of its creativity.   According to them, this modifies traditional Thai desserts and attracts new customers. It even ensures that they do not defraud their religion by following Lord Buddha’s teachings. The second group considers it inappropriate as the amulet is a sacred object. Since it is synonymous with Buddhism as a symbol of the Buddha, it is a sensitive topic of belief in Thai culture. It is considered disrespectful and offensive towards a revered item or a place if it is used for baking. This affects Buddhists’ feelings.
