Abstract

Objectives: The present study, aimed to examine the nature of classroom climate of high school teachers and to study the significant difference in the classroom climate of high school teachers in respect of their i) Sex, (ii) School locality, (iii) Residence, (iv) Medium of instruction, (v) Teaching Experience, (vi) Age limit, Methods: The investigators have adopted the survey method of research. The sample consists of 600 high school teachers working in high schools are selected by stratified random sampling technique. Research Tool: A standardized tool namely Classroom Climate Scale (CCS) has been used for this present investigation. The intrinsic validity and reliability of the tool was found to be 0.8453 and 0.7146 respectively.  To test the hypotheses formulated, the data were analyzed using the SPSS 11.5. Findings: The finding shows that; majority of the high school teachers have an average level of classroom climate. Also, there is no significant difference in the classroom climate of high school teachers with respect to (i) Sex, (ii) School locality, (iii) Residence, (iv) Medium of instruction, (v) Teaching Experience, (vi) Age limit, Novelty/Application: Teachers who are working currently in high school can enhance the quality of teaching and also they can take responsibility to bring out admirable students by improving classroom climate in future
