Abstract

A Motorcycle driveline is the system used transfer engine traction to the wheels. A lot of researcher has designed modeling of vehicular driveline by ignoring the engine torque and speed characteristic in the kind of driveline operation. Actually, the effect of torque related ideal engine speed influent loss power significantly to the component of drive line such as transmission, final drive and driven wheel. It cause the power efficiency become low and fuel consumption become high.

This research was identifying and investigating the characteristics, by designing the engine torque based characteristic electronically auto transmission used in motorcycle. The main function is, that to estimate within gear shifting control that exploit fuzzy controller, and engine excitation model. Engine torque value were referred and verified in library model. Controlled variable was motorcycle speed and disturbance variable was varied acceleration pedal position.

Based on discussion of simulation result, the loss based driveline design was concluded, that it can increase the efficiency of engine power absorption in the form of acceleration and fuel consumption was lower.
