Abstract

Effective exploitation of the temporal and inter-view similarities is critical to multi-view video coding (MVC), and the key to it depends on the optimal prediction chain structure to achieve better rate-distortion optimization and reduction in computational complexity. In this paper, a Hybrid Compression and Decompression(HCD) algorithm was proposed to design optimal MVC  schemes along with trade-off analysis. We evaluate the complexity of our solution in terms of computation time with improved video quality. HCD includes DWT, DCT and Genetic Optimization of transformed co-efficients. This technique effectively performs to get optimal rate distortion in MVC. The performance results are analyzed and simulation results are obtained using MATLAB simulink R2015 to observe parameters peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR), bit rate and computation time for different video sequences with different wavelet functions.
