The government of India is tremendously working to achieve the digital development goals through initiatives like the “Digital India Programme” and somewhere they have achieved, but still digital development of rural areas is yet to be achieved. Digital village is a project of the Government to connect villages digitally and provide them equal opportunities to grow, develop and live a better life. The study aims to find out the actual scenario of M.P.’s first digital village Badhjhiri and to know the level of Digital literacy and digital awareness in the village. The Research methodology includes a survey of the village in which 200 respondents of different age group and different occupation were selected. The findings reveal that the concept of digitalization of India and Digital village is a great and good initiative that can change rural India, but there is a need for more serious efforts and major work has to be done in this area. Digital village is only meaningful if every rural resident is aware and digitally literate.
