Abstract

There are multiple add-ons bySW companies to survive and continue to be exist in current pure environment of competition. Each successive SW up-gradation offers some better performance, features and distinct itself from all the past releases. If size of a SW system is very large, then the count of faults detected and debugged during each testing phase are also very large, which is very small compared to initial fault content at the start of testing phase. In such a scenario, we may model the SW fault detection process as a stochastic process having continuous state space. In this paper, multi-release SRGM model using differential equation has been proposed, in which two categories of faults: simple and hard with respect to time in which these occur for isolation and removal after their detection has been presented. The model is presented for a validated on real SW data set.
