Abstract

This paper presents single-phase dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) configuration with open-end winding transformer (OEW-T) and conventional H-Bridge DVR configuration. These types of configuration are able to mitigate voltage sag/swells in electrical power distribution systems for power quality improvement. The dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is power electronics based power quality device to can mitigate the voltage quality issues in modern power distribution system and maintain the load voltage. The DVR is flexible, fast, and efficient solution to the voltage quality problem defined as voltage sag and voltage swell. Modelling and controller design of a single phase dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) system using MATLAB Simulation for minimizing voltage sag by proposed configuration and conventional configuration in this paper.
