Abstract

Due to the many advantages in comparison with AC, Renewable Energy Sources (RES) have become more interested in research and industry. "This study offers a control algorithm that reduces their working and servicing costs and an optimum power management system with battery protection for independent photovoltaic (PV) systems. PV system and batteries are included in the microgrid. There are three steps of the suggested control strategy: power management system, battery protection and control. Power or energy management systems are responsible for charging the flow of electricity between the battery, microgrid sources and economic analytical burdens. The protection of batteries from overcharging and over-charging is the responsibility of the battery protection regime. Control through supervision compensates for the discrepancy between planning power and microgrid power.' Case studies, simulation results with a mat laboratory, and experimental laboratory installation show the suggested control system.
